I’ve always been drawn to photography. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to capture the world through a camera, the people, places and moments that can tell a story without needing a single word. But for a long time, photography felt like an expensive hobby I couldn’t quite afford to pursue.

Journalism eventually gave me a way in.

As a multimedia journalist, I found myself carrying a camera into the communities I was reporting on, and photography slowly became more than something I admired from a distance. It became another way for me to tell stories, one that allowed me to pause, observe and capture moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

My work is rooted in community storytelling, with experience covering breaking news, high school sports, community events and everyday moments across Southern California.

I’ve also always had a deep appreciation for the arts and entertainment. I grew up dancing for most of my life, which gave me an early appreciation for performance, movement, expression and the work that happens behind the scenes to bring a production to life. That experience continues to shape the way I approach photographing performers and events. I’m drawn to the fleeting moments on stage, the movement, emotion and energy that can communicate so much through a single frame.

I’m especially interested in environmental and wildlife photography, as well as entertainment photojournalism. Whether I’m photographing a landscape, a community event, an athlete or a performer, I’m interested in finding the moments that make people stop and feel connected to the story.

I’m still growing as a photographer, and that’s part of what makes the work exciting to me. I’m constantly looking for new places to explore, new stories to tell and new ways to challenge myself creatively.

Photography may have started as a hobby I couldn’t afford, but today, it’s one of the ways I understand the world and one of the ways I want to help others see it, too.
